Billing & Insurance

At Sage & Serene Counseling, we believe everyone deserves access to quality mental health care. We strive to make our services as transparent and accessible as possible for clients located in North Carolina.

Accepted Insurance

We are currently in network with the following insurance providers:

• Aetna

• Blue Cross Blue Shield

• Amerihealth Caritas

• Partners Medicaid (North Carolina)

• United Health Care/Optum

• Healthy Blue of North Carolina

• Carolina Complete Health (formerly Wellcare)

Private Pay / Self-Pay Rates

If you prefer not to use insurance or are not covered under one of the above plans, we offer private pay options:

• Initial Intake Session: $165

• Individual Therapy (53 minutes): $150

Payment is due at the time of service. We accept cash, major debit/credit cards, and HSA/FSA cards.

Out-of-Network Benefits

If we are not currently in-network with your insurance, you may still be able to use your out-of-network benefits. We can provide a monthly superbill (itemized receipt) for you to submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement. Please contact your insurance company directly to confirm your out-of-network benefits.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that life happens! If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice or missed without notice may be subject to a $50 late cancellation fee.
